Privacy Policy

Who we are

What data we collect

1) Data you provide via forms (WS Form)

When you submit an enquiry/booking request, you may provide:

  • Identity & contact data: name, email, phone, address/location.
  • Service details: property type/size, preferred dates, notes/instructions, file attachments (if enabled).
  • Communications: messages you send us (e.g., via the contact form).

Providing this information is voluntary but necessary for us to respond and provide quotes.

2) Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images displayed on the site.

3) Usage, cookies, and similar technologies

We use cookies, tags, and pixels to operate the site, improve user experience, and (with your consent) measure audience.

  • Elementor: sets an elementor cookie to remember whether certain pop-ups were shown and to optimise page rendering/layout (functionality/UX).
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4): sets analytics cookies only if you consent via our cookie banner; we use GA4 to understand aggregate site usage (e.g., page views, referrers).
  • Server logs: our host records IP addresses and basic technical data for security and diagnostics.

WordPress cookies:

  • If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies for convenience; these last for one year.
  • If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie checks if your browser accepts cookies; it contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
  • If you log in (only applicable if we enable user accounts), we set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, screen options cookies last one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
  • If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser; it includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

You can manage consent preferences anytime via our cookie banner or your browser settings (blocking cookies may affect site functionality).

Why we use your data (purposes & legal bases)

  • Respond to enquiries, provide quotes, deliver services
    Legal basis: performance of a contract or steps prior to entering into a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Operate, maintain, and secure the website (including Elementor pop-up frequency capping and layout UX)
    Legal basis: legitimate interests in running a reliable, secure website and improving user experience (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Audience measurement via Google Analytics (non-essential cookies)
    Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent anytime via the banner.
  • Customer service, record-keeping, compliance
    Legal basis: legitimate interests in business administration and compliance; and/or legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c), 6(1)(f)).

We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share only what is necessary with service providers (processors) under GDPR-compliant contracts:

  • Hosting & infrastructure (website, server logs, security).
  • Forms: WS Form to capture and route form submissions to us (and our email provider).
  • Site framework: Elementor for page building and pop-up display tracking.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (only if you give consent).
  • Spam detection (if comments are enabled): e.g., Akismet or similar automated spam detection service.

Where legally required (e.g., to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights/safety), we may disclose data to authorities or professional advisors. In case of a business reorganisation/transfer, personal data may transfer to the successor entity under the same protections.

International transfers

Some providers (e.g., Google) may process data outside the EEA/UK. Where such transfers occur, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, and supplementary measures as needed).

How long we retain your data

  • Form submissions (enquiries/quotes): retained as long as needed to handle your request, deliver services, and for business records (typically up to 6 years for accounting/defence of claims, unless a longer legal period applies).
  • Analytics: retained by Google per GA4 settings (typically 14 months or as configured) and subject to your consent.

We periodically review and securely delete or anonymise data when no longer needed.

Your rights

Under the EU/UK GDPR, you have the right to request:

  • Access to your personal data;
  • Rectification of inaccurate data;
  • Erasure in certain circumstances;
  • Restriction of processing;
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • Data portability (where applicable);
  • Withdraw consent at any time for consent-based processing (e.g., GA4).

To exercise these rights, contact dnkcleaningkerry@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity. You can also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland).

Security

We implement technical and organisational measures appropriate to risk (TLS encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege administration, backups, vendor due diligence). No system is perfectly secure, but we work to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments (if enabled) may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Form submissions are routed through WS Form and our email provider for processing and response.

Third-party links

Our site may contain links to third-party websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies; we are not responsible for their content or practices.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” will change accordingly. Material changes will be highlighted on this page and, where appropriate, notified by banner or email.
